A movement prediction device includes a CCD camera (image pickup device) for obtaining image information and a control unit for performing prediction of the movement of an operation body. In the control unit, a region regulation unit identifies a movement detection region on the basis of the image information, a computation unit computes, for example, a motion vector of a center of gravity of the operation body and tracks the movement locus of the operation body which has entered the movement detection region, and a movement prediction unit performs prediction of the movement of the operation body on the basis of the movement locus. |
