The separator has centrifugal drum (1) that is rotated about rotational axis (D), and provided with lower and upper portions (2,3) into which product to processed is guided via feed pipe (8). A liquid discharge portion (12) and solid discharge portion (22) is provided in the drum. A holding space is provided for collecting separated suspension solid. A discharge line (13) is provided in lower portion of drum for tapping off solid phase collected in holding space. A peeling element (19) arranged in discharge chamber (14) is non-rotated during operation of separator.
