The present invention relates to a method for controlling a media reproduction player that reproduces media, such as audio, video and the like. A method for controlling a media player in an information device comprising a touch screen and the media player comprises the steps of: displaying a selection area from which a function of the media player can be selected; displaying a control area for controlling the media player on the touch screen if a touch input indicating a drag or touch on the touch screen is detected; selecting a function of the media player according to a touch input on the selection area; and controlling the selected function of the media player and generating a control value determined according to the touch input.
