PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a chain of a continuously variable transmission which reduces noise of a chain type continuously variable transmission.SOLUTION: A chain is wound over two pieces of pulleys which are opposite to each other and have conical surfaces capable of changing a mutual distance and is held by the conical surfaces opposite to each other. Further, the chain includes: link units configured such that plate-shape links each having openings are arranged along the circumferential direction of the chain and a plurality of sheets are arrayed in the width direction of the chain; and pins which penetrate the openings of respective links belonging to the link units adjacent to the circumferential direction of the chain and have both ends abutted on the conical surfaces of sheaves 20, 22. A shape curve 52 which exhibits a shape of the chain of the edge surface of the pin in a plane vertical to the circumferential direction has a small curvature radius r at an initial contact point C0 as a contact point when a load applied to the pin is 0 and has an increased curvature radius on the inside in a radial direction of the pulley.
