PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To attain a structure in which breakage detection can be performed in a wide area in a fixing belt 1 serving as a heating rotary body.SOLUTION: A magnetic flux shield plate 52 serving as a moving member is movable between a first position and second position along a generatrix direction of a fixing belt 1 while being adjacent to an outer circumferential surface of the fixing belt 1. A position detection sensor 54 detects that the magnetic flux shield plate 52 is at a first position. A control part 103 serving as control means causes the magnetic flux shield plate 52 to move from a current position via the second position to the first position, and outputs an error signal when the position detection sensor 54 does not detects the magnetic flux shield plate 52 within a set time. When breakage occurs in the fixing belt 1, movement of the magnetic flux shield plate 52 is hindered, which enables breakage detection of the fixing belt 1. |
