<p>The invention relates to an external cladding system for buildings and structures using parts made from a porous ceramic material or similar, known as a facade having a botijo- or earthen-jug-cooling effect. The system can be applied directly as facing or used as an external sheet in ventilated facades. Compared to traditional passive cladding solutions, the system of the invention provides the possibility of surface cooling by means of evapotranspiration generated by supplying water through a network of cells inside the parts. The invention is intended primarily for thermally controlling building envelopes in hot climates and for cooling the air in the spaces inside buildings.</p> |
