The dispenser (1) has a housing (2) whose receiving area receives a beverage container i.e. milk cardboard, where the receiving area is enclosed by a hinged front door (5). A display device (6) is installed in the front door, and visually displays the presence of the beverage container. A visible covering unit (8) for the front door is made of glass. A mechanical actuator e.g. plunger or rocker, is arranged in the front door. A display element is arranged above a through hole (10) that is pre-tensioned from a spring.
