PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the water separated by swirling of steam in a body from bouncing to a partitioning plate and its mounting member, and being caught by the swirl flow of steam again in dripping off downward on an inner peripheral face of the body. SOLUTION: This steam separator includes the longitudinal cylindrical body 2, a steam inlet pipe 3 for introducing the steam into the body 2, a separated water outlet pipe 5 for leading out the water separated by the swirling of steam in the body 2, a steam outlet pipe 4 for leading out the steam improved in dryness by the swirling of steam in the body 2, and the disc-shaped partitioning plate 6 disposed on an intermediate section in the vertical direction in the body 2. The mounting member 20 for holding the partitioning plate 6 on the body 2 is disposed at a lower section of the partitioning plate 6, and held by a peripheral side wall of the body 2. A continuous annular clearance gap is formed between an outer peripheral face of the partitioning plate 6 and an inner peripheral face of the body 2. A connecting section of the partitioning plate 6 and the mounting member 20 is disposed at an inner side with respect to an outer peripheral edge of the partitioning plate 6.
