The present invention aims at reducing heat protection measures for an electronic component without involving an increase in the entire length of an electric power tool by arranging a switching element so as to be spaced apart from the electronic component such as a microprocessor. According to the present invention, there is provided an electric power tool using a DC brushless motor (20) as a drive source and controlling the DC brushless motor (20) by a switching element (44). The electric power tool includes a tubular housing main body portion (12) accommodating the DC brushless motor (20), and a grip portion (15) protruding from a side portion of the housing main body portion (12), wherein the switching element (44) is arranged inside the grip portion (15), and is spaced apart from an electronic circuit board (50) for an electronic component for operating the switching element (44). |
