The present invention relates to a shock absorbing device for an elevating cabin in an excavator material handler and a method thereof. The shock absorbing device for an elevating cabin in an excavator material handler according to one embodiment of the present invention includes an ascending terminal sensor, a descending terminal sensor, a valve controller which controls the ascending and descending speeds of a cabin, and a hydraulic valve which varies the flow rate of the hydraulic pressure applied to an actuator.
