TOPICAL TREATMENT OF WARTS

A method of treating common warts comprises topical administration of a pharmaceutical composition comprising dithionite in a pharmaceutically acceptable aqueous carrier to a wart, keeping the dithionite in the carrier in contact with the wart for a selected period of time so as substantially soften the wart, optionally repeating administration and contact, and mechanically removing the wart. Also disclosed is a medical patch comprising dithionite in a non-reducible matrix.
