The present invention relates to a wire rod which can be used for a tire cord or a saw wire and, more specifically, to a wire rod having excellent drawing properties and strength which can be used for a tire cord and a method for manufacturing the same. In order to achieve the above goals, the wire rod having excellent drawing properties is provided by controlling the components composition of the wire rod and the condition of the manufacturing process at the same time, so as to obtain a uniform refined structure.
