A wind power generator and a method for preventing icing of the wind power generator are disclosed. A wind power generator according to an embodiment of the present invention comprises: a cloud water content sensing unit for sensing cloud water content around a blade; a temperature sensing unit for sensing the temperature around the blade; a polarity providing unit for selectively providing a positive pole or a negative pole for the surface of the blade; and a control unit for calculating the polarity of ice formed on the surface of the blade, based on the cloud water content and the temperature respectively sensed by the cloud water content sensing unit and the temperature sensing unit, and controlling the polarity providing unit to provide the same polarity as the calculated polarity for the surface of the blade.
