<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the following problem: in a device for reading an identification code marked inside a transparent substrate, when the front face of a table on which the substrate is placed has an uneven shape or when the rear face of the substrate itself has an uneven shape, it is difficult to accurately recognize the identification code because observing not only the desired identification code but also a background shape, so that it is necessary to select a form or a wavelength of lighting or to devise an angle at which the lighting is applied. <P>SOLUTION: This device and method for reading the identification code marked inside the transparent substrate includes: an observation means; and a lighting means disposed outside an observation visual field of the observation means. The observation means includes an image forming means forming, on the observation means, an image of light applied from the lighting means, reflected on the inner face of the transparent substrate a plurality of times, passing the identification code or reflected on the identification code, and emitted outside the substrate. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT</p> |
