<p>In one aspect, the present disclosure provides a method of predicting disease progression comprising: (a) obtaining a sample of breast tissue that is estrogen receptor negative, progesterone receptor negative and does not over-express human epidermal growth factor 2 receptor protein; and (b) determining the expression of glia maturation factor beta, wherein expression of glia maturation factor beta is indicative of lymph node metastatis. In another aspect, the present disclosure provides a method of predicting disease progression comprising: (a) obtaining a sample of breast tissue that is estrogen receptor negative, progesterone receptor negative and does not over-express human epidermal growth factor 2 receptor protein; and (b) determining the expression of glia maturation factor beta, wherein expression of glia maturation factor beta is indicative of an untreated or treated prognosis that is reduced compared to an absence of the expression.</p> |
