Apparatus for the determination and regulation of viscosity of a liquid in which the liquid is fed through two orifices of the apparatus by gravity comprises two vessels 6, 12 disposed one above the other with an orifice 11, 19 in the bottom of each vessel. The upper vessel 6 is mounted in the upper part of a casing 1 and is provided with a circular overflow 7 and a thin walled orifice 11 which discharges according to the liquid viscosity into the lower vessel which is open at the top and equipped with a nozzle 19 at the bottom having one or more suitably dimensioned smooth passages, so that the mass or weight of liquid contained in this vessel, or its level may be a function of the viscosity of the said liquid. The viscosity is regulated by a cam device 27 which moves in accordance with the indicater needle 14 which actuates the needle of a valve controlling the passage of a diluent which is mixed with the liquid. The nozzle 19 may be interchanged for different viscosity ranges.</p> |
