<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus in which an operation panel is easily attached and detached. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus has a structure in which a bracket 53 extending from the back of an operation panel unit is fixed to the frame 6 of the inside of an apparatus body with screws 7a to 7d, thereby attaching the operation panel unit to the apparatus body. In the image forming apparatus, an armor 8 of the apparatus body has a cover member 531 for covering the fixed part of the bracket 53, and an image forming apparatus body armor for covering parts other than the fixed part. The cover member 531 is attached to the bracket 53 of the operation panel unit, and has cylindrical holes 532a to 532d in positions where the screws 7a to 7d can be fastened and unfastened by inserting drivers into these holes from the outside.
