A micro-lens array is provided where the centres of the micro-lenses are slightly displaced versus a regular lattice. The small displacements may be defined by the characteristic parameters of the light-field camera. Micro-lenses are displaced relative to a regular lattice according to a first common pattern such that a sampling step is close to or equal to the sampling step of projected pixel coordinates of a refocused image generated from a set of images obtained through the micro-lens array. Micro-lens subsets NxN, where N is a positive integer, are further displaced relative to the regular lattice according to a second common pattern. The second common pattern operates such that a colour sampling step is close to or equal to the sampling step of projected pixel coordinates of a refocused image generated from a set of images obtained through the micro-lens array.
|
