The device (1) has a circular saw blade retaining spindle (4) supported at a circular saw blade spindle carrier (3) in a rotatable manner around a circular saw blade rotational axis (2). A circular saw blade driving motor (6) rotates the spindle around the axis, where the carrier is supported together with the spindle on a circular arc-shaped trajectory (7) in a pivotable manner around a pivot axis (8) that is formed at a distance from the rotational axis. A circular arc-shaped guiding device (9) is provided for guiding the carrier during pivoting around the pivot axis.
