<p>A sprinkler shut-off apparatus 10 is used to seal a sprinkler head 50 that may have been set off accidently, but which subsequently allows the sprinkler to function properly in the event of an actual fire, until such time as the sprinkler can be fully re-set. The apparatus comprises a first connector 32 that is sealingly affixable to a water outlet of a first fire sprinkler head and means 46, 47 for releasably retaining the first connector to the water outlet. The apparatus further comprises a conduit 26 extending between, and in fluid communication with, the first connector and a second connector 36. The second connector is adapted to provide fluid connection with a second fire sprinkler head 38. The apparatus therefore provides a temporary bypass between the broken sprinkler head and a replacement head. In a further embodiment, the apparatus may comprise a tapered centraliser (98, figure 6) caused to locate the inlet (94, figure 6) of the first connector with the outlet (29, figure 6) of the first sprinkler head.</p> |
