A shoulder belt height adjustment mechanism for a child seat includes a slide member 2 mounted slidably to a backrest 1 of the child seat, and a locking device 3 mounted to slide member 2 for locking two plate bodies 21 of slide member 2. A shoulder belt is secured to each slide member 2 at a desired height. Locking device 3 includes opposite locking rods 31 operable between an unlocked position and a locked position where a hook end portion 311 of each locking rod 31 releasably engages a corresponding positioning hole 131 in bracket 1 using an actuating block 32, for example by urging abutting inclined faces 3211 of actuating block 32 and 312 of locking rods 31. Coil springs 33 may be provided between hook end portions 31 and ends 221 of a handle portion 22 of slide member 2.
