PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a parking assistant device can suitably indicating how a vehicle can be steered toward the target parking position to cause it to arrive at a parking position without contact in a narrow parking place where there is a risk of contact with an obstacle. SOLUTION: The parking assistant device detects the obstacle present at a periphery of one's own vehicle by an obstacle detection device 15, sets a new target parking position so as to become a guide route where it is not contacted with the obstacle when it is determined that the guide route reaching from a retreating starting position where retreating of one's own vehicle is started to the predetermined target parking position is contacted with the obstacle detected by the obstacle detection device 15 under control of an image processing control part 21, and displays the guide route including the new set target parking position on a display 22.
