PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an elevator facility renewed into a well sweep type which is efficiently renewed from a hydraulic elevator in a short time. SOLUTION: The elevator facility includes a hydraulic jack vertically disposed in the space between a side surface of a car ascendable and descendible by a guide rail and an inner wall of a hoistway where the car is installed. A guide rail for a counterweight is erected sideways of the hydraulic jack in the space within the hoistway where the hydraulic jack is installed, and the counterweight is made ascendable and descendible by the guide rail. A motor and a drive sheave rotationally driven by the motor are installed above the hydraulic jack in the space within the hoistway where the hydraulic jack is installed.
