<p>The method involves contacting combustion fumes (1) with absorbent solution (12) comprising amine (32). A fraction of carbon dioxide-enriched absorbent solution (3) is regenerated in a regeneration column (G). Carbon dioxide-depleted fumes are washed in a wash section (B3) by contacting with liquid water stream (17). A part of the depleted fumes in amine degradation products (18) is washed in another wash section (B5) by contacting with another liquid water stream (34) that comprises acid so as to obtain treated gas (CH), where the treated gas is released to an atmosphere.</p> |
