<p>The invention relates to a fire protection construction composed of fire protection panels (2) for walls or ceilings of rooms. The surface formed by the fire protection panels (2) is interrupted along a plurality of lines. At each of these interruptions there is inserted, between adjacent fire protection panels (2), a non-combustible, elongate sound absorber element (1) having an absorption surface (7) which lies substantially in one plane with the surface of the fire protection panels (2) that is directed towards the inside of the room. The sound absorber element (1) comprises an elongate hollow carrier profile (5) which has, at two mutually opposite longitudinal sides, outwardly projecting fastening portions (12) for fastening to the respectively adjoining fire protection panels (2), and, at its front side, a recess which extends in the longitudinal direction and which opens into the cavity of the hollow carrier profile (5). Furthermore, the sound absorber element comprises an absorber strip (6) made of sound-absorbing, non-combustible material which is fastened in the hollow carrier profile (5) and has an absorption surface (7) which lies freely in the plane of the recess of the hollow carrier profile (5) and also, after installation of the sound absorber element (1), is not covered by the fire protection panels (2).</p> |
