An environment modeling method for the application of an augmented reality, provided by the present invention, includes the following processes of: obtaining a two-dimensional image through a camera, estimating the preset number of vanishing points in the obtained image through a user interaction, and defining a front side; obtaining a three-dimensional box model by producing a plane through the depth determination of a three-dimensional area from the two-dimensional image by using the estimated vanishing points and the defined front side; detecting a feature point from the image in which the three-dimensional box model is obtained and matching the detected feature point with the feature point of a gravity-aligned image by using gravity information which is obtained through sensing information of an acceleration sensor; and generating a virtual annotation by performing a three-dimensional recovery through the feature point matching.
