The present invention provides a device for detecting a faulty polymer insulator under a live-wire state capable of enabling easy and accurate measurement without malfunctioning even under the live-wire state in a high electric field and in a strong magnetic field by reducing the weight and integrating the insulator to perform a local electric field measuring function and a leakage current measuring function of a polymer insulator at the same time. To that end, the present invention includes: a leakage current sensor which is installed at one side of one end of an insulation rod which has a certain length and includes a grip at the other end, is opened or closed by a clamp according to the operation of an operation handle installed to the grip, and senses the leakage current of the polymer insulator; a local electric field sensor which is installed to the other side of the formerly-mentioned end of the insulation rod, is opened or closed by a clamp according to the operation of the operation handle, and senses the local electric field of the polymer insulator; and the operation handle which is mechanically connected to the leakage current sensor and the local electric field sensor individually through the inside of the insulation rod and is operated by an operator to open or close the leakage current sensor and the local electric field sensor by a clamp at the same time.
