Acrylonitrile is separated from a mixture containing acrylonitrile and acetonitrile by distilling said mixture in the presence of water and an aliphatic, aromatic, aralkylic or heterocyclic aldehyde or ketone having a boiling point above 100 DEG C. Aldehydes or ketones include acetophenone, cyclohexanone, acetyl-acetone, benzaldehyde and furfural. |
