Cosmetic composition comprises (a) 0.0001-10 wt.% at least one amino acid and/or at least one oligopeptide, and (b) 0.1-10 wt.% at least one vegetable-based cationic surfactant, in a carrier. An independent claim is also included for treating keratinous fibers, comprising applying the above composition on the keratinous fibers, and rinsing the fibers after a contact time of few seconds to up to 45 minutes.
