The present invention relates to an automatic step plate mechanism for a vehicle. A frame unit has a protruding support, in order to support a step plate unit withdrawn from the frame unit installed on the entrance of a vehicle. By reinforcing the supporting force of the step plate unit when the step plate unit is withdrawn, the step plate mechanism has a safe structure. A main fixing apparatus, capable of fixing the position of the step plate unit when the step plate unit is inserted into the frame unit, is prepared so as to stably maintain the position of the step plate unit and enable the safe usage of the automatic step plate mechanism for a vehicle.
