The present disclosure relates to a steering-wheel locking prevention apparatus for an MDPS device, which enables steering by steering force of a driver by removing a resistance factor against the steering force to enable the steering force of the driver to be transferred to a steering wheel at least although an error occurs on the MDPS device. The steering-wheel locking prevention apparatus for an MDPS device according to the present disclosure includes: a driving gear 21 mounted on a driving shift 22 of a motor 20; a driven gear 13 engaged with the driving gear 21 and mounted on a steering column 12 which rotates by a steering wheel 11; and a pressing means for pressing the driving gear 21 with the driven gear 13, wherein the pressing means includes a pressure release means 33 for stopping the driving gear 21 from pressing the driven gear 13 when an error occurs in the MDPS device, and an engagement separation means 40 for separating engagement between the driving gear 21 and the driven gear 13 by moving the driven gear 13 in the axial direction of the steering column 12 is included.
