The invention relates to a method pertaining to an SCR system for assessing the need to warm reducing agent for exhaust cleaning which is present in a container (205) by means of a warming medium which is circulated through said container (205), and for assessing whether starting up of circulation of said reducing agent in said SCR system is appropriate in response to such warming. The method determines continuously the temperature (T1) of the reducing agent in the container (s401 ), the difference between this temperature and either the temperature (T2) of the warming medium or the temperature (T3) of the warming medium downstream of the container (205) (s420). It further determines continuously (s440) an accumulated amount of melted reducing agent based on said temperature difference, as a basis for determining the appropriateness of said starting up. The invention relates also to a computer programme product comprising programme code (P) for a computer (200; 210) for implementing a method according to the invention. The invention relates also to an SCR system and a motor vehicle equipped with the SCR system. |
