The present invention relates to a guardrail device and, more specifically, to a guardrail device comprising: a pillar disposed on the side of a road; a guardrail disposed on the pillar; a support unit that is disposed in between the pillar and the guardrail and which prevents the guardrail from breaking away from the pillar when a vehicle collides with the guardrail. The support unit is extended in the direction to which the guardrail is extended; and is composed of a first wire rope vertically spaced from the guardrail along the direction to which the guardrail is extended, and attached to and fixated on the pillar by a fixing unit, and of a second wire rope that is fixated on the first wire rope in the direction intersecting with the first wire rope for forming a mesh-like structure with the first wire rope. The guardrail device according to the first guardrail is capable of minimizing the damage to the vehicles and humans since the guardrail effectively absorbs the impact force generated by the collision with the vehicles; and of preventing a secondary accident caused by a breaking-away guardrail by preventing the breakaway of the guardrail and the occurrence of a roadkill by blocking the animals from passing under or over the guardrail. |
