PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize a time-space trellis coding MIMO scheme capable of improving transmission characteristic by performing correct branch selection, even when a correlation of propagation path response is large.SOLUTION: In a mapping unit 106 of a time-space trellis coding unit 11, a transmission device 303 assigns a plurality of bits of an input signal to signal points by using mapping information having same modulation level but different signal point arrangements between transmission systems 1 and 2. This means that, when creating received signal replicas of each of receiving systems 1 and 2, a receiving device 304 can use the mapping information having different signal point arrangements between the transmission systems 1 and 2 as used by the transmission device 303, so that even when a correlation of propagation path response is large, resemblance between the received signal replicas becomes nonexistent, providing that a combination of signal point candidates is different. Therefore, correct branch selection is made possible and transmission characteristics can be improved. |
