PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a broadcast signal receiver and a television receiver capable of enabling viewing not only a program that has been viewed from the beginning but also a program of a switched channel when a channel is switched into a different channel during the broadcast of a commercial message (CM) while suppressing unnecessary video-recording processing.SOLUTION: When the viewing of a program of a first channel selected by a user is started, a control unit 10 determines whether or not a time when the viewing has been started is a time within a predetermined time from the broadcast start time of a program which the user has started viewing. When a time is within a predetermined time from a broadcast start time, the control unit 10 clocks the continuous viewing time of the program. When the continuous viewing time becomes equal to or more than the predetermined time, the first channel is defined as a video-recording candidate. Subsequently, when a channel is switched into a second different channel during the broadcast of a CM signal in the first channel and the viewing of the second channel continues even after the termination of the broadcast of the CM signal, the control unit 10 video-records the program of the first channel. |
