PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem that it takes time, and frequency also increases for a maintenance operation for preventing drying of a suction member in a suction cap.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus discriminates whether or not paper powder adhesion degree count is equal to or more than a first threshold when drying degree count is equal to or more than a threshold, discriminates whether or not mist adhesion degree count is equal to or more than the first threshold when the paper powder adhesion count is not equal to or more than the first threshold, discharges droplets in a cap 82a from a recording head 34 when the mist adhesion degree count is not equal to or more than the first threshold, and performs a first drying prevention maintenance operation which is a replenishment discharge operation for sucking the inside of the cap 82a by starting actuation of a suction pump 220 simultaneously as discharge or prior to the discharge. |
