PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the number of types by integrating types having similar properties as much as possible especially for the types having a great amount of orders and to present suitable paper on the basis of the properties of paper a client requires.SOLUTION: A purchase support system for paper includes: a data storage unit for storing data on use of paper and/or quality of paper as a product; an input unit for inputting the use of the paper and/or the quality of the paper requested for purchase; a storage unit for storing data inputted to the input unit; a selection processing unit for extracting suitable paper from the data storage unit on the basis of the use of the paper and/or the quality of the paper inputted to the input unit; and an output unit for outputting the use of the paper and/or the quality of the paper and a merchandise name pertaining to the suitable paper selected by the selection processing unit.
