PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress a cooling water temperature drop tendency in an engine, regarding a thermostat.SOLUTION: A thermostat includes: housings 2 and 4 including a first opening section and a second opening section circulating cooling water; a valve 5 stored in the housings 2 and 4; springs 6 energizing the valve 5 in a valve closing direction; a temperature sensing section 10 including a case 10b fixed to the valve 5 and wax 10a stored in the case 10b on the second opening section side; a rod 3 moving the valve 5 in a valve opening direction during melting and expansion of the wax 10a; a shield member 20 which is fixed to an outer peripheral surface of the valve 5 or the case 10b and partitions the inside of the housing between the valve 5 and the case 10b storing the wax 10a. |
