PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem of an image reading device provided with an ADF that in order for an optical detection means detection position and a document reading start position to be matched, multistaged control of a transport speed by an ADF motor is complicated.SOLUTION: A scanner unit 20 comprises: a document feeder unit 24 driven by a motor 34 to transport a document; an image reading unit 28 for reading a document S transported by the document feeder unit 24 separately for each line; a data buffer 52 for temporarily holding the image data read by the image reading unit 28; and an image data management unit 30 for sequentially writing the image data held in the data buffer 52 into memory and managing the image data stored in the memory. When the motor 34 starts driving, the image data management unit 30 sequentially retrieves the data held in the data buffer 52 and stores it into memory until motor drive is finished. |
