PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve such a problem that a life of a whole of an image forming apparatus is short due to concentration of use frequency to a specific paper feed tray and paper feeder because a user convenience is prioritized in the conventional paper feed tray and paper feeder selection method for the image forming apparatus.SOLUTION: There is provided the image forming apparatus and a unit selection method for the same in which an order of selecting a medium housing device 23 is corrected so that use frequency of the selected medium housing device 23 is distributed. Thus, if a life of a component of a medium housing device having a higher priority order is running out, a medium housing device which has a lower priority order and does not include a component whose life is running out is selected, so that concentration of use frequency to the medium housing device having a higher priority order is moderated, and consequently a mean time between failures (MTBF) of the whole of the image forming apparatus 20 can be extended. |
