Disclosed are an apparatus for detecting oscillation in a wireless communication repeater and a method of detecting oscillation. The apparatus for detecting oscillation in a wireless communication repeater comprises: a pilot signal injection unit for injecting the pilot signal of an out-band frequency band; a duplexer unit in which one reflected part is inputted through an uplink path and not through an antenna among an RF signal in which the pilot signal is inserted, wherein the pilot signal is inputted along a downlink path; a pilot signal detecting unit for detecting the pilot signal included in the reflected RF signal and measuring the power of the reflected pilot signal; and a control unit for determining whether oscillation occurs based on whether the power value of the reflected pilot signal is more than the reference value.
