PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery capable of dramatically improving reliability and performance of a battery by suppressing generation of gas and deterioration in discharge capacity even when a battery in a charged state is exposed under a high-temperature environment.SOLUTION: A nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery includes: a positive electrode 1 including a positive electrode active material in which a compound comprising zirconium and a fluorine element is attached on a surface of a lithium transition metal composite oxide; a negative electrode 2; and a nonaqueous electrolyte containing methyl 3,3,3-trifluoropropanoate(FMP).
