PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus having excellent radiation resistance and capable of recovering fuel debris in accordance with plans.SOLUTION: A method for recovering fuel debris comprises: obtaining shape data and radiation data for each tiny area of fuel debris, based on shape data obtained by taking images of shapes of the fuel debris that has melted and dropped and radiation data obtained by measuring radiation dose of each part of the fuel debris; designing a recovery plan that determines the order of the tiny areas into which the fuel debris is segmented depending on the magnitudes of radiation dose; performing segmentation of fuel debris and subsequent recovery treatment in accordance with the order; and re-obtaining shape data and radiation data for each of the tiny areas of the fuel debris after the segmentation and the recovery treatment, to reflect them in the recovery plan for repetition of segmentation and recovery treatment.
