PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a refuge facility which enables also an old person and a person feeling uneasy about physique to rapidly and easily evacuate to a high place without accompanying hazards, and which can surely avoid direct contact with floating matters and ensure the safety of refugees.SOLUTION: A refuge facility 1 for protecting human life from a disaster with increasing water amount by tsunami or flood includes: a cylindrical body 2 erected on the ground and having sufficient rigidity and height to overcome tsunami or flood; a plurality of water introduction ports 21 opened in a lower end position and enabling water to be introduced into the cylindrical body 2; a guide port 22 opened in a lower end position of the cylindrical body 2 located above the water introduction ports 21 and guiding refugees into the cylindrical body 2; and a floating body 3 held by its self-weight at a lower end position in the cylindrical body 2, and ascendably/descendably floating according to the level of water introduced from the water introduction ports 21 into the cylindrical body 2 in a state that refugees guided from the guide port 22 into the cylindrical body 2 are mounted thereon. |
