PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a favorite program data management device and method and a television receiver adapted to be able to determine the preferences of a user for multiple programs by appropriate rating.SOLUTION: According to the present embodiment, a program storage unit stores programs on a plurality of channels and the program attribute information thereof for a plurality of days. A viewing history storage unit stores viewing history data on viewed programs viewed by the user. A frequency determination unit determines by using the viewing history data whether the viewed program is a daily program or a weekly program. A same series program search unit determines a search procedure according to the determination result derived by the frequency determination unit, searches the program storage unit for a program accompanied by program attribute data resembling the program attribute data of the viewed program, and thereby finds a plurality of daily programs and weekly programs. Then, the plurality of found programs are differentiated in weighting between the daily programs and weekly programs. |
