PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress the thickening of a liquid remained in a partition member and in its vicinity.SOLUTION: A printer comprises: a head 1; a cap mechanism 40 capable of taking a partitioned state in which discharge space S1 is partitioned from outer space S2, and an open state in which the discharge space S1 is opened to the outer space S2; a humidification mechanism; and a control device for controlling these actions. The control device controls the cap mechanism 40 so that it comes into a partitioned state, and controls the humidification mechanism in such a manner that humidified air is supplied from a gap 61 to the discharge space S1 and discharged from a gap 62. The gaps 61 and 62 are defined by a cap 41 and an outer edge part of a flange part 38. At the outer edge part of the flange part 38, a notch 38a is formed. |
