The present invention relates to a pharmaceutical composition containing R(-)-2,10,11-trihydroxy-N-propylnoraporphine or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof as an active ingredient for preventing or treating cancer. The composition according to the present invention shows an outstanding anticancer activity by inhibiting cell proliferation of solid cancers such as cervical cancer, fibrosarcoma, and liver cancer in a low micromolar concentration, thereby being valuably used for prevention and treatment of the cancer.
