The present invention relates to a backing block for an ultrasound probe and a method for fabricating the same. According to the present invention, the method for fabricating a backing block for an ultrasound probe include a filling step to fill the backing block body which has an inner space where an opening part is formed, with a sound absorbing material and a pressing step for pressing the sound absorbing material filled in the backing block body. Thereby, the massive input of the sound absorbing material can be carried out so that an ultrasound wave which transmits from a piezoelectric ceramic to the backing block is effectively absorbed and the acoustic feature is further improved. |
