An array substrate for an LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) and a manufacturing method thereof are provided to form a specific pattern in at least one pixel area so as to discriminate at least one pixel area, thereby easily detecting generation of bright spot errors. At least one pixel of RGB(Red, Green, Blue) pixels includes a discriminating unit. The RGB pixels comprise plural gate lines(132) and data lines(134) crossing each other, a TFT(Thin Film Transistor) and a pixel electrode(146). The TFT has a gate electrode(133), a semiconductor layer(141), a source electrode(135) and a drain electrode(136) spaced from the source electrode. The gate electrode is formed at an intersection of the gate lines and the data lines and is protruded from the gate line. The semiconductor layer is formed on the gate electrode position. The source electrode is protruded in the data line. The pixel electrode is connected with the drain electrode. |
