PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a transparent electrode used, such as in manufacturing an electroluminescent (EL) display as a self-luminous type display, high in light extraction efficiency, and also high in productivity.SOLUTION: A transparent electrode includes: a support; an organic-inorganic composite film containing an organic-inorganic complex including inorganic compound particles and a polymer bonded to the inorganic compound particles; and a transparent conductive film. The porosity of the organic-inorganic composite film is 3-90 vol.%.
